Drive and Dash 2025
Huckleberry Ice Cream, free car wash, youth, bishopric, Relief Society, and hot weather.
This evening, we had our 2nd Relief Society Drive and Dash. Relief Society sisters sign up for a 15 min time slot during which they meet with a member of the Relief Society Presidency, enjoy an ice cream treat, and receive a free car wash by the youth, youth leaders, and bishopric.
The activity allows us to focus on some specific topics and learn some things we can do to strengthen the sisters in our ward. Our first year we focused on ministering and finding Joy in the gospel. This year we focused on connection.
I met with 7 women, one at a time. we had a plan to invite the sister to schedule additional time if 15 minutes is insufficient. Regardless, I ran over. Wednesday, I met with one woman who was unable to be there tonight. Our 25 min turned into 90+ minutes as we discovered common interests and friends in common.
These drive and dash car wash conversations help me bond with the sisters I meet. I feel such love and gratitude as I meet with them. They share with me their struggles, growth, and testimonies. Some conversations elevate to being able to see the sister as God sees them. A friend asked me if that s because of the setting apart I receive for callings, or due to service with the sister. I had to say "both".
