Retirement Countdown

 I have been counting down my retirement from work by weeks rather than days. I am within 2 weeks now. These are my last days at DDA.

More than ever, to me it feels like the last days all across our great nation. Just tuning into the news, there is one crisis after another be it fires, squalls, tornadoes, or government administrative mandates. It feels like the last days where all will be in chaos.

Today I am thinking of my good friend Shari who is in ER while they do MRI's and CT scans to determine if she has experiencing effects of a stroke, or something else.  Her blood pressure rose to 225/??, she experienced a terrible headache and significant blurry vision.  It was one of a few episodes she had over the past 2 weeks.  Her primary care physician assumed it was a reoccurrence of her previous vertigo, but the high blood pressure was a new twist.  I am glad that they went to ER, because I think her pcp underplayed what she has been experiencing.  I hope whatever the cause of her condition is revealed and repairable.
