Grins

I have smiled a lot more the past 24 hours.  Christmas movies and Christmas carols have tossed me into a bubbly mood.

Currently, the telling of the first Christmas by Perry Como is playing from our Alexa Echo Dot.  The narrative reminds me of the Christmas programs my mother used to prepare and orchestrate for Christmas Sunday worship when she was the ward chorister.  For weeks she considered music and scripture to tell the story of Christmas, then rehearsed with the ward choir, accompanied by string and wind musicians, pianists, organists, and narrators.  Most all the performances can through prepared and polished, similar the Perry Como recitation I listened to just now.

The Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians version of  T'was the Night Before Christmas reminds me of our Young Women's rehearsals at the Jackson's home on Magnolia (Seattle, WA). I am trying to recall all of the participants in the chorus:  Joni Spear (Roger's), Jody Wright (Marcelis), Renee Blackham (Crandall), Lisa Jackson (Richardson), Kelli O'Neill (Price), Lynette Orme (Havens), Diana Madsen (Madison), Sara Gerstner (Koehler), Amy Sadleir, Teri Wright (Davis), and me.  I hope I didn't miss someone.  I am just grinning thinking of the times we shared together.

I was so fortunate to have enjoyed a great group if youth in my life.  These are only a few of many.

Happy memories afternoon.

Merry Christmas to all!
