Discombobulation

I have been out of sorts for a couple of weeks.  It began with a dietary consultation and a headache that lasted 6 days.  About the time I consider urgent care as the only solution, the headache left. However, I am easily off balance, probably not able to pass a sobriety white line test if my eyes are closed.  I forgot a meal I signed up to take, forgot that I was conducting a meeting in Relief Society, forgot what day it was more than once, can't recall my schedule without checking the calendar each time, and consistently misplaced my phone and purse. Let's not forget that every day a different fingernail breaks or splits.

Last evening, I accidently put my foot on the gas pedal when I meant to break (fortunately, I didn't hit the boulder in front of me), but then when we loaded some furniture into the truck bed, I didn't safely descend from the truck bed and ended up on the cement.  I am a bit sore, nothing broken, thankfully.  I was reminded... "You are not as young and agile as you once were."  "Remember that balance and strength training we talked about?" "Mom, why'd you do that that way? Are you ok?"

Now before someone thinks I have a had a TIA, which I don't think that happened, but one could wonder...my current state may be related to dehydration and a messed up digestive system, and the side effects of chemo hormone therapy.

In addition, my youngest daughter is in the process of moving to her first apartment, and my oldest daughter was in a car wreck; she is fine, but the car is not (totaled).  We are purchasing rental insurance, furniture off Facebook Marketplace, working with our auto insurance, and looking for a replacement vehicle.  There is a lot of coordination going on and emotions are all over the place.

I am so glad I am retired.  I cannot imagine what unforeseen mistakes I would be making at work.

So, I am taking a little retreat from life today, making banana bread, and sewing.

My pal Cooper (dog) is monitoring me, following me everywhere I go today, and Siobhan and Finn (cats) have been taking turns checking in as well.

However, the banana nut bread is a victory today !!

Happy Birthday to my sweet sister, Jody!!
