Events and milestones

Chinstrap participated in his first parade, playing the clarinet with his school.  He was suprised about how all the preparation and build up resulted in what felt like a ten minute blip and it was done!  However, he loved it, the parade, the playing, the marching, the uniform, the bus ride et all.  He wants to continue  throughout the rest of his school career and I hope he suceeds.  Our family stood on the sidelines roooting for him, but he was so focused on performing that he never even noticed us :-)  I like that kind of focus on good things!

Our friend and "adopted cousin" received his Eagle Scout award last night. What a great acccomplishment!  I was pleased that the journey he traveled to this award was recognized and rewarded in such a wonderful way.  We know not every scout exemplifies the characterisitcs of scouting in all times and all places throughout the entire process.  It is a transition of dedication and hard work that transforms an individual from a boy scout to Eagle scout. Way to go Evan!
