Bloomsday!
We did it!

Perfect weather, no rain, lots of support, and actually fun.
This is the 10th Bloomsday for the Emperor, and the first for Galapagos and Adelie.
Rockhopper, Chinstrap, and Humbolt were finishers for the second year in a row!

Some Bloomsday traditions - tossing clothing into the trees along the street to be gathered and given to charities after the race - bouncing beach balls prior to the race to keep the crowd enthusiastic and moving.
- Doomsday hill with a large black vulture mid-way - the Rocky Theme blaring as you turn the corner to the finish line - and of course the lengthy walk to the car afterward :-)

Yes! We made it - through tears for the youngest, the encouragement of the sister, and the patience of everyone else, but we finished and have the lime green t-shirts to proudly display.

Funny thing about this picture is that it wasn't taken at the finish line. At the finish line Maddie, Kaylee, Nathan, Van and I were holding hands. I tried to find one of each family member and they were a blurr in a crowd at the finish - so how and where this was taken, I have no idea :-)
