Auctions this year

I've attended two fund-raising auctions in the past two months, in addition to a garage sale. Hard earned money is a little harder to part with this year. This year we are all feeling the crunch. It seems that we are either looking for a great value, or something that totally makes us laugh.

I witnessed a small group of co-workers pay $350 to see a respected supervisor dress as a woman, someone pay $30 for a $5 dessert, and others pay $20 for drawings of a young talented artist. Meanwhile many people pass over used furniture, home appliances, and tutoring services.
