Dissolution or Disillusionment?

It is difficult to maintain friendships when the fundamentals of respect and concern for the welfare and feelings of others are so often ignored.
In our family, it's own dynamics with the inherent conflicts of special needs children and teens, it has seemed at times prohibitive to have gatherings with other families.
We have come to a point that we are no longer willing to subject our family to the humiliation of not being able to meet the expectaions of normalcy.  It is time for us to take a step back and look at how to unite our immediate family independent of the opinions of others.
