A Time to share the harvest

Wasn’t it just spring a week ago? It seems yesterday we camped at the lake on the fourth of July and suddenly kids are back in school and we’re getting ready for Christmas shopping. Our lives move so quickly.

In our world that celebrates newness, fresh ideas, high-speed access, and youthful energy we sometimes cruise straight into the end results and forget all that happens between these two points.

In the spring, everything comes to life, but it is in the summer that our lives take shape, are tended, and grow. It is the time we develop talents, learn to apply gospel principles in everyday living, and develop the faith needed to bring us to maturation.

Then comes autumn - a time to share from our bounty with neighbors and friends. A time when cool mornings and warm afternoons allow us to enjoy the vibrant colors and fresh air. How many of us would go through the growing season and the lock up all we have grown for personal use? We don’t. We can, we freeze, we give, we share. Likewise, the harvest of our lives it a time to share what we have learned with others through giving of ourselves, and telling stories that teach others and increase our faith and patience. It is time to share the wisdom we have gathered in the harvest of our lives.

Thanks Jo for a chance to put thoughts into words again.
