Cabin saga

Van and I have concluded that we are so frustrated trying to make our lives at home work, that we have been considering this cabin as an escape from our daily grind...so far we have been out there to repair things, look things over, and discuss what needs to be done. Most of the time it has been either alone or with the two of us plus one or two children. I think it's our escape pod and the feeling of being alone in the big universe holds some attraction for us.

It is definitely not a glamorous abode. It's truly a log cabin complete with dust, cob webs, and dated furnishings...

Last night we browsed through Lowe's. I found a metal rooster (garden art) that I quite liked, and some fun America folk decor that I liked and Van didn't. We both agreed on some draperies - striped of all things in sage green, antique gold, and red. We spent a lot of time trying to find the right rods and rings because the quantity of what we liked was limited. We even checked out Wal-Mart as an alternative. Anyway, we came home, pulled one out of the drapes and it totally clashed with the furniture and walls in our living room. The colors were perfect for our bedroom, but the stripes weren't...so back it goes again.

We'll try this again another time. Maybe I should just buy the overpriced metal rooster!
